Barbie opens a pop-up store in Liverpool ONE shopping centre to celebrate the anniversary of the release of their first doll in 1959.
In celebration of 60 years since the Barbie was released, the first Barbie store has opened in the UK. The store is in Liverpool ONE, on South John Street. Opening on 11th October 2019 for six weeks only, this day marked the International Day of the Girl.
The pop-up shop has limited edition clothing, for adults and children aged over 3, on sale. The store also stocks a range of Barbie dolls including, Career Dolls, Barbie Fashionistas and the 60th Anniversary Doll.
The signature Barbie pink colour scheme is evident throughout the shop. Its walls are lined with the brand's dolls and neon lights, and also features a Barbie truck. The store also allows young children to have their photo taken in a life size Barbie box.
This news comes after the 2019 release of Barbie Fashionistas, of which is the most diverse and inclusive doll line in the world. The range includes dolls that are gender neutral, different sizes, various skin tones and disabilities.
